About

We built NestScout because we needed it.

We bought our first homes a year apart — one of us a new build, the other an existing home. Between us we had a closing packet, an inspection report, a drawer of manuals, and little idea what any of it obliged us to do. NestScout is the thing we wanted on day one.

A house is the most expensive thing most people will ever buy, and for most families it is the bulk of their net worth. Everything NestScout does either protects that value or improves it.

Why NestScout exists

What we are building

One assistant that holds everything about your home and acts on it. Everything we ship has to earn its place against four promises.

Remembers

What you own, what it cost, who installed it, and when the warranty ends.

Tells you

When something needs doing, timed to your systems and your climate.

Helps you decide

Whether a job is yours or a pro’s, how the quotes compare, and what a project adds to the home’s value.

Connects you

To a verified local pro, with the job already diagnosed so the quote is the real number.

The two of us

We met at the University of Rochester's Simon Business School and have each spent a decade in our field. We have built and shipped together before — rarename.me has been live since June.

Bought a new build, then spent a year keeping the warranty walkthrough deadline in his own head — and photographed every defect twice, because by the time it mattered he could not tell the first set apart. Ten years in banking, which is where the parts of NestScout that move money come from.
