NestScout is operated by NestScout Inc.. You can delete your NestScout account and the data attached to it at any time, from inside the app or by writing to us. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Delete it yourself, in the app
This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.
- Open NestScout and go to Settings.
- Tap Privacy & data.
- Tap Delete my account.
- Confirm twice — we ask a second time because this cannot be reversed.
Or ask us to do it
Email privacy@nestscout.io from the address on your account and say you want it deleted. We will confirm it is you before we act, and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What is deleted
Everything attached to your account goes with it, immediately and permanently:
- your account, sign-in details and profile
- your home or homes — address, profile, systems and room measurements
- documents in your Home Folder, and their extracted text
- photos, scans and voice recordings you submitted
- diagnoses, guides, projects and estimates
- appliances and warranties in your vault
- maintenance history and reminders
- your timeline, notes and cost-basis records
- community posts and comments you wrote, and your messages with professionals
What we keep, and why
A record that the deletion happened. We keep an audit entry showing that an account was deleted and when. It does not contain your documents, photos, messages or home data. We keep it because we have to be able to show that a deletion request was honoured.
Transaction records, where the law requires them. If you paid for a job through NestScout, the financial record of that transaction is retained for as long as tax and accounting rules require, typically seven years. This is held by our payment processor as well as by us, and it is not used to contact you or to rebuild your account.
Anything you shared that is no longer yours alone. If somebody else in your household still uses a home you shared with them, that home and its records remain theirs. Your personal account is still deleted.
Backups are overwritten on a rolling cycle, so a copy of deleted data may persist in backup storage for up to 30 days before it is gone entirely. It is not accessible to us in normal operation during that window.
Deleting some data without deleting your account
You do not have to delete everything to remove something. Documents, photos, projects, timeline entries, vault items and community posts can each be deleted individually inside the app, and a deleted item is gone from our systems on the same terms as above.
